Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind (AIDB) is hiring a Food Service Worker for the Alabama School for the Blind. The role involves preparing, cooking, and serving meals to students, staff, and guests; washing dishes; cleaning and sanitizing kitchen equipment and work areas; organizing storage and inventory; and following food safety and cleaning procedures. The position requires applicants to be at least 19, able to perform physical tasks and lift up to 35 pounds unassisted or 70 pounds with assistance, work flexible nights and weekends, complete ServSafe training and certification within three months, and obtain survival-level sign language proficiency within 36 months. A high school diploma, ServSafe certification, and two years of cafeteria experience are preferred.
