Description
The Forensic Fire Protection Engineer supports YA's Forensic Engineering team by investigating fires, explosions, and fire suppression system failures; evaluating fire-rated assemblies and components; analyzing physical evidence and fire patterns; assessing electrical, HVAC, construction, and suppression-system performance; conducting fire safety inspections and hydraulic reviews; coordinating laboratory analysis; preparing technical reports; performing fire simulation modeling; and supporting litigation. The role requires a bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field, at least 10 years of fire protection engineering experience including 5 years in forensic investigations, an active PE license, and familiarity with NFPA standards and fire dynamics modeling tools. Seattle-based candidates must work in a hybrid arrangement and report regularly to the Seattle office, while candidates outside Washington and Oregon may travel frequently within Washington, Oregon, California, and Hawaii.
