Mountain Engineering is hiring a full-time Forestry Technician for a permanent, multi-year federal stewardship contract. The role performs timber cruising, timber marking, unit layout, GIS/GPS data collection, hazard-tree identification, and field navigation in Plumas National Forest and La Porte, California. Candidates need forestry knowledge, GPS and data-collection proficiency, familiarity with California Forest Practice Rules, and the ability to work in rugged outdoor conditions. Compensation is $23–$30 DOE, with lodging, health coverage, paid leave, and retirement matching.
