Robots & Pencils is hiring a Staff Forward Deployed AI Engineer to lead the end-to-end design, delivery, and adoption of AI/ML systems in client environments. The role combines architectural leadership, model development and optimization, integration troubleshooting, client partnership, standards-setting, and mentorship. Candidates need at least seven years of professional software engineering experience, including four years focused on production AI/ML systems and generative AI, along with expertise in Python, AWS, agentic systems, RAG, LLM observability, AI safety, API design, cost optimization, and containerized deployments.
