Vitol is hiring a Forward Deployed AI Engineer in Houston, Texas, for a hybrid role requiring in-office work five days per week. The engineer will work with commercial teams to identify AI opportunities, translate business problems into technical requirements, build and deploy agentic solutions, develop internal GenAI platform capabilities, apply AI and modeling techniques to energy and commodities problems, and communicate results to traders and senior management. The role requires a relevant quantitative degree, Python fluency, at least three years of hands-on software, AI, machine learning, or data science experience, and familiarity with generative AI, cloud platforms, and modern GenAI tooling.
