Description

FieldAI is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer in Irvine to lead the end-to-end deployment, integration, troubleshooting, reliability, monitoring, and customer enablement of autonomous field robotics systems. The role partners with customers and internal software, hardware, AI research, and product teams to translate field feedback into system improvements and scalable deployment practices. Candidates need a master’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant technical field, 2–3 years of software engineering or systems integration experience in field robotics, and proficiency with Python, C++, Git, ROS, Linux, containerization, and cloud infrastructure.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Master’s degree or higher in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Required Previous Experiences: 2–3 years of software engineering or systems integration experience in the field robotics industry.
Experience deploying complex technical systems in the field.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience deploying, operating, or maintaining mission-critical systems in real-world environments.

Ability to work directly with customers in high-stakes, fast-paced settings.
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
