Sylvan is hiring a Founding Engineering Lead to own the architecture and delivery of its core platform, lead a pod of three to four engineers, and contribute to the product roadmap, ML strategy, and model approach. The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership, including sprint planning, code review, on-call responsibilities, hiring, and performance management. Candidates should have at least five years of engineering experience, experience leading engineers, applied machine-learning judgment, and be based in New York City for an in-office role.
