Roo is seeking an experienced Frontend Engineer to lead and own the technical direction of their frontend platform. This role involves evolving the design system, improving developer experience, and integrating AI-assisted workflows to enable faster and more efficient product development. The ideal candidate will have strong full-stack engineering fundamentals, particularly in React and TypeScript, and will be adept at leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: Significant experience building production software, including a focus on frontend systems.
Strong full-stack engineering fundamentals with deep expertise in React and TypeScript. You're equally comfortable building frontend experiences, backend services, developer tooling, and platform infrastructure when the problem calls for it.
Experience working closely with designers and modern design systems. You're comfortable working in Figma and understand how design decisions translate into scalable frontend architecture.
Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development: Cursor, Claude, or similar. You're already building meaningfully faster with these tools, and you think about how to extend that leverage to everyone around you.
You've connected design systems to prototyping tools, AI coding environments, or engineering pipelines — and you understand what makes those integrations actually get adopted vs. ignored.
You operate well in an eng org — you understand how to get work prioritized, you don't need a PM to run interference, and you're comfortable owning a technical roadmap.
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Storybook, style-dictionary, or design token pipelines.
Experience with animation and interaction frameworks (Framer Motion, Rive, Lottie).
