Description

The Washington Post is hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer for its Subscriptions team to build and operate customer-facing web experiences across frontend, backend, cloud, and production systems. Additional Information

Minimum Education: BA/BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
Required Previous Experiences: At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience building and supporting production applications
At least 2 years of frontend development experience with React and modern JavaScript or TypeScript
Experience building or integrating with backend services and APIs, preferably using Java
Experience with Node.js in services, APIs, automation, build tooling, or developer tooling
Experience working in shared or monorepo-based codebases and contributing to common libraries, dependencies, or development tooling
Experience troubleshooting and supporting production applications
Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools in day-to-day development

Familiarity with CI/CD, observability, or developer platforms such as Jenkins, Airflow, or DataDog
