Description
The Assistant Teacher assists in supervising and managing a classroom of children, supporting their physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development in a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities include caring for children's personal needs, planning age-appropriate activities, maintaining classroom records, communicating with parents and staff, supporting other classrooms, and serving as a substitute when needed. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, New York State Registry and criminal history clearances, physician confirmation of good health, and completion of 15 hours of early childhood training within the first six months and annually thereafter; one year of related work experience with children is preferred.
