Description

Altera is hiring a Functional Safety Architect to own the safety architecture for next-generation semiconductor devices. The role develops safety concepts and mechanisms, performs FTA, FMEA, and DFA analyses, decomposes safety requirements across IP blocks, guides ASIL/SIL and fault-tolerance design, reviews hardware and software safety implementations, defines safety verification strategies, and prepares IEC 61508 and ISO 26262-aligned safety cases. The position requires a relevant engineering degree, substantial silicon industry experience, safety certifications, and experience certifying ASICs, PLDs, or CPUs; it is a regular full-time role based in Bengaluru, India.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Required Previous Experiences: 10 years of silicon industry experience with a bachelor’s degree, or 8 years with a master’s degree
Experience certifying ASICs, PLDs, or CPUs from concept through certification with EXIDA, TUeV, or an equivalent body
Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with RTL coding and SoC architecture simulation and debugging
Customer engagement and understanding of end-user needs for safety design applications
