Description
The Functional Safety Engineer identifies customer safety requirements, develops tailored safety concepts, designs functionally safe system architectures, and represents the safety concept to certifying bodies. The role supports functional safety requirements through the development process, advises engineering teams, participates in reviews, contributes to process improvement, and mentors engineers. It requires an electrical or embedded systems engineering degree, at least three years of experience developing functionally safe embedded systems, knowledge of IEC 61508 and ISO 13849, strong analytical and communication skills, and German and English proficiency. The position is based in Freiburg and offers flexible working hours and mobile work options.
