Description
The General Assembler assembles individual components into complete steering gears by loading parts onto a conveyor, installing seals and covers, scanning dimensions, applying torque, and checking for leaks. The role also includes tool and equipment setup, machine adjustments, quality inspections, computerized gauging, statistical process control, recordkeeping, and compliance with manufacturing and safety standards. It requires a high school diploma or GED, production or manufacturing experience, Lean Manufacturing knowledge, and the ability to work in a team environment; the schedule is an 8-hour night shift from Sunday through Thursday.
