Description
The role performs strenuous manual labor on heavy and highway construction projects, including preparing paving surfaces, shoveling asphalt, grading fill, patching asphalt, excavating and filling trenches, handling and storing materials, loading and unloading trucks, and maintaining a safe job site. The position requires outdoor work in all weather, including extreme heat, and involves standing, kneeling, lifting up to sixty pounds, pulling, squatting, walking, and using power and hand tools. The worker must communicate with foremen, supervisors, and fellow employees and follow safety and incident-reporting procedures.
