Description
HDR is hiring a Geotechnical Engineer for its Resources Business Group serving New York and New Jersey. The role supports geotechnical analysis and design and interpretation of subsurface conditions for infrastructure projects such as roadways, retaining walls, bridges, buildings, dams, and soil and rock slopes. Responsibilities include traveling for site visits and project meetings, setting up field exploration programs, coordinating subcontractors, inspecting earthwork and foundation construction, and working independently or with senior staff. The position requires a bachelor's degree in civil or geotechnical engineering or a related discipline, a professional engineering license, five years of geotechnical engineering experience, knowledge of soil and rock mechanics, relevant engineering and geotechnical software experience, and strong communication skills.
