Description
The Mechanic 1 performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs on trailers, diesel and gasoline-powered vehicles, and plant equipment such as wheel loaders, skid steers, lifts, backhoes, lawn mowers, and farm tractors. The role includes vehicle inspections, oil and fluid changes, component replacement, basic diagnostics, documentation, roadside service, safety compliance, and support for more complex repairs under the supervision of Mechanic 2, Mechanic 3, and Fleet Managers. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver's license, at least one year of vehicle-maintenance experience, basic engine knowledge, tooling, and fleet software familiarity are required; Class A CDL, brake certification, vocational training, communication skills, and self-motivation are preferred.
