Description
Cabarrus County is hiring a semiskilled Grounds Maintenance Worker to perform landscaping and grounds-maintenance work in parks, playing fields, and other public areas. The role includes mowing, seeding, planting, pruning, spraying, fertilizing, maintaining irrigation and ball fields, repairing playground equipment, and operating mowers, tractors, dump trucks, and hand tools. The position is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., may require overtime and after-hours work, and requires on-site availability for emergencies. A high-school-equivalent education or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; pesticide applicator licensing or the ability to obtain it within six months is required, and a Class A commercial driver's license is desirable.
