Description
The Groundskeeper I performs routine and preventative landscape maintenance across Wheaton College grounds, including turf mowing, fertilization, weed and pesticide application, planting, trash removal, seasonal decoration installation, and athletic-event setup and teardown. The role also oversees student summer Ground Shop employees, operates lawn and snow equipment, responds to emergencies, and works on-call during snow events. It is a full-time, non-exempt position requiring a high school diploma or equivalent, an Illinois pesticide operator license or ability to pass the test within one year, a valid Illinois driver’s license, and the ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds. The position pays $20-$21 per hour.
