Description

The Group Leader at Grand Street Settlement's Youth Services Department promotes growth, leadership, and positive self-image in elementary school-aged youth. This role involves creating a safe and engaging learning environment, providing homework help, leading recreational activities, and delivering literacy and math lessons. The Group Leader will supervise participants, facilitate summer camp activities, and ensure the safety of all children while maintaining academic focus and fostering positive group cohesiveness.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: High School diploma is a must, college degree preferred
Required Previous Experiences: Three (3) or more years’ experience & expertise working with youth (volunteer experience is acceptable)
Three (3) or more years’ experience coaching, instructing, or facilitating curriculum-based lessons (to youth preferred)
Youth development experience
experience teaching and designing curricula
Previous experience working with diverse young people ages 5-14 years old
Preferred Qualifications: Valid CPR/AED Pro certification through recognized accrediting body preferred.
Valid First Aid/RTE certification through recognized accrediting body preferred.
