Description
The ILM is appointing a Group Leader to lead research on physics-based rendering of translucent objects, including Monte Carlo radiative transfer, rough-surface modeling, anisotropic light propagation, variance-reduction simulation acceleration, and application projects in autonomous driving, dentistry, 3D printing, and digital twins. The role requires a university degree and PhD in a relevant field, strong theoretical optics and programming skills, experience with physics-based rendering and ray tracing, publications, third-party funding experience, and English proficiency. It is a permanent tenure-track position with performance-based compensation, autonomy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and no teaching obligations.
