Description
The Group Underwriter Large, Associate supports Blue Shield’s mid-market group health care underwriting team by assessing risk, applying actuarial factors and rating methods, reviewing customer data and benefit plans, negotiating with sales representatives, approving rates, updating databases, preparing statistical reports, and coaching other underwriters. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience, 0–2 years of relevant experience, knowledge of financial and medical products, and strong negotiation and customer service skills. It is a hybrid position requiring in-office work two days per week.
