Description
Google is hiring a Hardware Engineer to design and build optical transceivers and photonic networking systems for its TPU superpods and data-center infrastructure. The role covers optical system architecture, evaluation of emerging photonic technologies, and work from concept through high-volume manufacturing. Candidates need a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience and at least two years of experience with fiber-optic components and packaging; a PhD and experience with digital coherent optical transmission, digital signal processing, optoelectronic simulation, and high-speed optical manufacturing are preferred.
