Description

Gnostech is hiring a Hardware-Software Integration and Installation Engineer to support Navy and Marine Corps Meteorology and Oceanography In-Service Engineering programs. The role covers shipboard hardware and software installation, system maintenance, security patching, documentation, testing, troubleshooting, configuration management, and certification and accreditation support for hybrid software, hardware, and web/cloud systems. The position is based in San Diego, California, with hybrid or remote work not authorized, and may require travel to the contiguous and outside continental United States. Compensation is $95,000-$110,000, and applicants must hold a current active Secret Clearance.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience, or high school diploma with 10+ years of hardware/software integration and installation experience in a shipboard environment.
Required Previous Experiences: 5+ years of hardware/software integration and installation experience in a shipboard environment, or 10+ years with a high school diploma.
3+ years of software engineering or systems engineering experience, preferably in a DoD or government environment.
Hands-on experience with Windows and/or Linux system administration and scripting.
Familiarity with DISA STIGs, patch management, and DoD cybersecurity requirements.
Experience with software version control systems and issue tracking tools.
Preferred Qualifications: Strong documentation and communication skills.
Strong soft skills and ability to engage with senior leadership and junior enlisted.
Natural problem solver.
