OpenAI is hiring a Hardware Systems Software Engineer to lead the software bringup and validation of new AI silicon and first-party systems. The role defines test coverage across compute, memory, interconnect, and I/O subsystems; builds diagnostics, automation, telemetry, and regression infrastructure; drives board and system integration; creates stress and reliability tests; translates architecture specifications into measurable acceptance criteria; and coordinates hardware-software debugging across silicon, firmware, electrical, platform, and workload teams.
