Breaking Ground is hiring a Harm Reduction Specialist for its Transitional Housing program at the South Strand Safe Haven in lower Manhattan. Reporting to the Assistant Program Director, the role will develop and deliver harm-reduction curricula, coordinate with syringe-exchange and community partners, facilitate client groups, provide opioid-overdose prevention training, ensure safe-sex resources and syringe-disposal procedures, and support treatment planning with psychiatric and primary-care providers. The position offers a Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. schedule with one late evening per week and a 35-hour work week. A bachelor’s degree is required, while experience with homeless adults, substance abuse, harm reduction, motivational interviewing, driving, computer skills, and bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
