Rio Tinto is hiring a Haul Truck Operator for its Surface Mining Operations team at Kennecott Utah Copper outside Salt Lake City, Utah. The permanent full-time role operates large haul trucks to transport ore and waste across an open-cut copper mine, following safety procedures, traffic rules, radio protocols, and production requirements. No mining experience is required because comprehensive training is provided, although heavy machinery, farming, transport, or shift-based experience is advantageous. The position uses a rotating 12-hour day/night roster in a 24/7 operation and requires a valid United States driver's license, teamwork, hazard awareness, pre-start inspections, and authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
