Description
The Head Start Associate Teacher assists a Site Supervisor and, when appropriate, a Teacher in instructing preschool children and supporting Head Start program operations. Duties include developing lesson plans, recruiting families, screening children, maintaining classroom and playground safety, supporting children with special needs, documenting child information, assisting with home visits and parent conferences, preparing meals, and participating in family and case-management meetings. The role requires early childhood education training, an Associate Teacher Permit or higher, CPR and pediatric first-aid certification, and compliance with childcare licensing requirements.
