Description
The Heavy Equipment Mechanic maintains, repairs, and performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on underground and surface mining equipment, including production drills, trucks, muckers, bolters, shotcrete mixers, and other mobile equipment. The role involves troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and CANBUS/RCS/TCAD systems; reading technical drawings and OEM manuals; maintaining records in SAP; operating mining equipment; welding and fabricating; and mentoring junior technicians. Three years of mobile maintenance experience in a mining environment and six years of heavy equipment mechanic experience are preferred, along with mobile maintenance certifications, strong mechanical aptitude, and knowledge of heavy-equipment systems.
