Description
The Dougherty County Solid Waste department is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator to operate and maintain heavy equipment and trucks for grounds, building, road, landfill, and construction work. Responsibilities include operating backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, cranes, dump trucks, and other machinery; moving, compacting, and burying solid waste; excavating and filling dirt; maintaining and repairing roads and right-of-ways; clearing landscapes; and performing equipment inspections and minor repairs. The role requires a high school diploma or GED equivalent, two years of heavy equipment operation experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience, a valid state driver’s license, and the ability to perform physically demanding work in variable outdoor conditions.
