Description
The Heavy Equipment Operator - Excavator Operator will operate an excavator in an open-pit mine or civil construction worksite under the direction of a Team Lead. Responsibilities include excavating, moving, and loading materials; performing pre- and post-operational equipment checks; maintaining and lubricating equipment; following safety procedures; and participating in toolbox meetings. The role is full-time, located north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, on the Syncrude MLX Site, with a 14 days on, 7 days off schedule and 11.5-hour shifts. It requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid class five driver’s license, a three-year driver’s abstract, CSTS and OSSA or BSO or CSO certification, excavator operation experience, and English proficiency.
