Description
Hanover County Public Schools is seeking a seasonal high school assistant coach to provide leadership, supervision, and coaching for varsity and junior varsity teams during the spring season. The role assists the head coach with planning and conducting practices, coaching games, communicating with parents and players, supervising team activities, attending all practices, games, and coaches’ meetings, and arranging coverage when absent. Candidates need high school playing or coaching experience, in-depth knowledge of the applicable sport and VHSL rules, organizational and communication skills, and the ability to mentor and develop players. A valid high school teaching license is preferred, and a criminal record check is required. The position is contingent on student participation, events, and funding and is compensated through the activities stipend list.
