Description
The High Voltage Electrician (Apprentice) completes a four-year apprenticeship combining on-the-job training, classroom instruction, and self-study. The role installs, constructs, commissions, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs high-voltage electrical equipment in switchyards, substations, communication facilities, and power operations centers; it involves indoor and outdoor work, climbing, lifting, confined-space work, travel, and potential overnight travel. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or nationals, meet OPM trade-occupation qualifications, demonstrate aptitude for the apprenticeship, and satisfy driver's-license, physical, safety, and background requirements.
