The Colorado Department of Transportation is hiring a Highway Maintenance Specialist in Durango, Colorado. The role performs roadway maintenance, snow removal, heavy equipment operation, traffic control, equipment repair, and emergency response, with training provided to obtain a Class A or Class B commercial driver's license. Applicants must have at least two years of physical labor and/or heavy equipment operation experience, a current regular driver's license, and must obtain a CDL permit within 30 days and a Class A or B CDL within 120 days. The position pays $53,940 annually in base pay plus a $6,000 housing stipend, with an annualized hourly rate of $25.93 and overtime at $38.90 per hour.
