Description

BKF is hiring a remote Historic Structures Senior Technical Specialist to lead architectural history and historic preservation work across California, with limited field visits and access to BKF offices as needed. The role involves archival research, field documentation, historic resource evaluations, CEQA/NEPA/NHPA Section 106 compliance, impact mitigation, stakeholder consultation, environmental compliance planning, project coordination, and technical advising for infrastructure and development projects.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Master’s degree or doctorate in architectural history, art history, historic preservation, or a closely related field, including coursework in American architectural history
Required Previous Experiences: At least 10 years of full-time experience in American architectural history or restoration architecture research, writing, or teaching
Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, and multidisciplinary project professionals
Experience managing environmental compliance documentation for varied infrastructure, development, and government projects
Preferred Qualifications: Scholarly research and publication contributions in American architectural history
Strong persuasive communication and presentation skills
