Description
The Histotechnician obtains and processes pathology specimens, maintains specimen identification, and performs routine histopathological and cytopathological testing. Responsibilities include slide preparation, tissue processing, embedding and microtomy, staining, cover-slipping, equipment maintenance, filing, paperwork, quality control, and compliance with CLIA and CAP regulations. The role requires completion of an accredited Histotechnician program or a relevant associate's degree or higher in a chemical, physical, or biological science, plus less than one year of laboratory experience.
