Description
The Captain is responsible for the overall safety, daily operation, maintenance, production, crew welfare, training, and administrative management of a Hopper Dredger. The role coordinates with project management, technical departments, and the dredging superintendent; oversees dredging patterns, soil-conveying equipment, environmental compliance, incident investigation, ISM and ISPS requirements, and vessel upgrades. The Captain must hold a Class 1 Master certificate, valid GMDSS and other STCW certificates, a valid statutory license issued by the flag authority, and familiarity with SMS, ISPS, risk assessment, and permit-to-work procedures.
