Description
The hospice aide provides personal care to hospice patients under the direction of a registered nurse. Duties include following the Hospice Aide Plan of Care, documenting services, reporting deviations and patient concerns, safely using durable medical equipment, taking vital signs, assisting with mobility and range of motion, supporting skin integrity, providing caregiver respite, and participating in interdisciplinary and quality-improvement activities. The role requires at least 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training, one year of relevant aide experience, a driver's license and insured vehicle, and strong verbal and written communication.
