Description
The Housing Specialist performs Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program activities, including eligibility and screening, re-certification, contract preparation, applications, income and family-verification, rent and subsidy calculations, moves, portability, informal reviews, hearings, and terminations. The role requires strong customer service, computer, organizational, analytical, and math skills, along with two years of college, business, or technical school and two years of extensive public-contact or customer-service experience. The specialist must obtain HCV Specialist certification within one year of hire and work in compliance with HUD regulations and program procedures.
