Shield AI is hiring an Engineer II or Senior Engineer to join its Human Machine Teaming (HMT) Experimentation capability. The role supports the HMT Experimentation Lead by establishing an HMT Experimentation Lab and running applied research and development on adaptive operator–autonomy relationships. Responsibilities include designing and running HMT experiments, conducting robustness and resilience testing, characterizing context sensitivity, extending operator-in-the-loop and live-virtual-constructive testing, developing performance and trust measures, analyzing human-machine system data, and translating findings into recommendations and assurance evidence. The role requires a relevant degree, human-machine teaming and human-factors expertise, experimental design and statistical analysis skills, and multidisciplinary collaboration; experience with mission autonomy, OITL/LVC testing, scenario design, and related domains is preferred. The position is full-time, may involve approximately 25% travel, and requires a cleared background and possible reference check.
