Description
The Human Services Student Assistant – Basic Needs Support Intern provides peer-level assistance to college students facing food insecurity, homelessness, or housing instability. The part-time internship supports direct service, resource referrals, intake and needs assessments, follow-up communication, pantry and hygiene-kit distributions, events, workshops, educational materials, and confidential recordkeeping. It is based at Joliet Junior College’s Office of Student Rights and Responsibilities, runs for 16 weeks with 10–12 hours per week and 150 contact hours, and offers internship credit for HUS-210.
