Description
The Commercial HVAC Technician performs repair, maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment in city-owned facilities. The role covers split systems, package units, heat pumps, chillers, boilers, VRF and VAV systems, refrigeration piping, controls, leak detection, refrigerant handling, and building automation systems. It requires knowledge of electrical systems up to 480 volts, HVAC codes, safety regulations, and diagnostic equipment, along with the ability to work on rooftops, in confined spaces, and in adverse weather. The position requires specialized HVAC training and at least two years of progressively responsible commercial HVAC experience; five or more years of commercial HVAC experience is preferred.
