Sumitomo Electric U.S.A., Inc. is hiring a full-time, exempt Network Systems Engineer to define and maintain the technical roadmap for hyperscale AI cluster solutions involving Co-Packaged Optics, optical interconnects, networking, and compute architectures. The role assesses GPU, silicon photonics, switching, and networking technology trends; represents the company at industry forums, standards bodies, and conferences; develops partner and ecosystem strategies; and advises executive and R&D leadership on technology bets and competitive positioning. The position requires a relevant bachelor’s degree and 3 to 5 years of experience in systems engineering, data-center or networking hardware, semiconductors, or optical interconnect, with direct experience in CPO, silicon photonics, or high-speed interconnect development. The role is based in an office environment, requires approximately 50% travel, and pays $150,000 to $180,000 per year.
