Description

Educare Chicago is seeking an Inclusion Aide to support children with disabilities and special needs in a high-quality early childhood program serving low-income families on Chicago's South Side. The role involves assisting students with safety, personal care, and facilitating their inclusion in the daily curriculum, ensuring compliance with educational standards, and supporting implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Conscious Discipline curriculum.

Additional Information

Required Previous Experiences: One to two years of experience working with children with disabilities and/or challenging behavior in an early childhood or childcare program.
Preferred Qualifications: Minimum of 6 credit hours in Early Childhood Development.
Associate Degree in Education.
Ability to learn and implement Head Start Performance Standards.
Willingness to learn about theories and principles of child growth, development, and early childhood education.
Willingness to learn how to address mental health challenges and work with special needs children.
Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
Ability to implement strategies and instruction gained from professional development.
Effective communication (written and verbal) with parents, staff, and professional community groups.
Efficiently establish and handle relationships with colleagues/clients and gain their trust and respect.
Experience in handling risk and uncertainty to move work forward.
