The Production Line Mechanic performs production maintenance, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and basic quality-control activities on manufacturing equipment and machinery. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 3–5 years of maintenance-related experience in a manufacturing environment, mechanical troubleshooting skills, blueprint and schematic interpretation, precision-measuring-device use, and basic mathematical ability.
