Description

Howmet Aerospace is hiring an Injection Molding Simulation Engineer at its Research Center in Whitehall, Michigan. The role develops injection molding concepts, establishes best practices and design rules, improves materials and simulation tools, supports plant personnel and global facilities, and delivers simulation results for ceramics, plastics, and waxes used in investment casting. Candidates need a STEM bachelor’s degree, at least three years of relevant experience, and legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution
Required Previous Experiences: At least 3 years of experience in injection molding, mold/tool design, CFD, or FEA
Preferred Qualifications: MS or PhD in modeling, simulation, plastics, mechanical, or materials science
5+ years of experience in injection molding simulation, tooling design, or injection molding
Ability to work independently and in teams while balancing multiple projects
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Complex problem-solving using analytical tools, designed experiments, and result analysis
Proficiency with complex 3D CAD models, preferably Siemens NX
Advanced knowledge of heat transfer, fluid flow, stress analysis, and mechanics of materials
Experience designing and manufacturing complex multi-cavity dies with tight tolerances
Experience operating injection molding machines and the injection molding process
Familiarity with additively manufactured components
Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of investment casting materials
