Description
The Pre-Apprentice performs material-handling, staging, loading and unloading, setup, clean-up, and site-organization work under the direct supervision of a journeyman. The role may also perform entry-level work with or without hand tools, but pre-apprentices are not permitted to operate heavy equipment, welders, or perform energized electrical work or layout or design services. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, trade-related math, tape-measure reading ability, a valid driver’s license, willingness to join a union affiliate, and successful drug and background screening. The work may involve heights, confined spaces, weather, chemicals, noise, and heavy equipment.
