The Long Beach Unified School District is seeking Instructional Aide - Special candidates for substitute and 3.8-hour part-time positions, with future opportunities for 6-hour positions. The role supports certificated staff in classrooms and other learning environments by reinforcing instruction, tutoring students, monitoring behavior, assisting with physical and hygienic needs, providing basic health care, supporting assistive technology, and performing related clerical and classroom duties. Candidates must have high school-equivalent education, at least two years of higher-education study or an associate degree, or a Personnel Commission examination; six months of paid or volunteer experience working with children in a structured environment is required. Some assignments require CPR/First Aid and physical health-care training.
