Description
The Direct Support Professional provides in-home and community support to intellectually and developmentally challenged adults, including daily living skills, mobility training, coping skills, community navigation, money management, safe self-medication management, and customized interventions based on individual service plans. The role also involves documenting care, communicating with stakeholders, participating in training and meetings, and coaching others. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Applicants need a high school diploma or GED, at least 18 years of age, relevant experience with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, a California driver’s license, automobile insurance, and English proficiency; bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred.
