The Intake Specialist at Rogers Behavioral Health serves as the first point of contact for patients and families, facilitating admissions and supporting access to behavioral health care. The role involves collecting and verifying medical, insurance, and demographic information, completing admission paperwork, registering patients in Cerner, assisting with safety checks and crisis situations, coordinating unscheduled admissions with Patient Access and multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and Joint Commission standards. The position requires professionalism, computer skills, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prefers a bachelor’s degree, mental health experience, and insurance or billing experience.
