Description

This is a 28-week full-time internship at NPR based in Washington, DC, from October 6th, 2025 to April 17th, 2026. The intern will gain experience with All Things Considered and the General Assignment Desk. Responsibilities include research, guest booking, article writing, and assisting with audio and digital production. The internship requires strong research, communication, and digital media skills. Compensation is $20.00 per hour with benefits including retirement plan eligibility, commuter benefits, access to on-site medical providers and fitness center, and paid leave.

Additional Information

Minimum Education: Must be a current student in an accredited degree program or a recent graduate of no more than 12 months from the month of the start of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated interest in news and current affairs
Deep curiosity, initiative, tenacity and attention to detail
Excellent research and analytical skills
Strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to work quickly, efficiently and accurately under deadline pressure
Newsroom experience/studies
Digital media skills, including proficiency in social media
Knowledge of NPR programming
